A bit about me

My name is Fernando, and, as most Brazilians, I have a long name, in fact, I have a name, a middle name, and three surnames…

I was born in the deep South of Brazil, in the beautifull city of Sant’Ana do Livramento (RS) , a few meters (yes, meters), from the border with Uruguay.

At a young age I moved to the North of the country, initially to Manaus (AM) and then to Santarém (PA) (go visit, this is an astonishingly beautiful place) where I spent most of my late childhood and my teenage years.

At 18, I moved to Belém (PA) to start college. I graduated with a BS in Production Engineering. In early 2006 I moved to Como (CO), Italy, where I got my Masters in Industrial & Management Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and started working for a boutique consulting business.

I got back to Brazil and worked on a number of different things. I worked for a real state agency, owned a startup, was a college lecturer, got a certificate degree in Economics, and started a successful consulting business that helped over 100 different clients over the years.

In 2017 I moved again to the South of Brazil to start graduate school in Marketing. I staied there for two years.  And in 2019 I worked for the Brazilian federal government in their import and export agency as a Market Intelligence Manager.

Finally, in 2020, I moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma to start my graduate studies in Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. I got my PhD in the summer of 2023 and I am currently an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL, my faculty page is here.
